When selecting a photo for your custom painting, there are a few things to keep in mind to achieve the best results. Here are some recommendations to follow:
- Image Resolution/Quality: The quality of your photo is crucial in determining the outcome of your custom painting. It is important to choose an image that is sharp and clear. You can test this by zooming in on your image, and if it remains sharp, it’s a good choice. Additionally, the higher the number of pixels, the better. Aim for a photo with at least 1000×1000 pixels.
- Distance from Camera: The closer your subject is to the camera, the more detail we can capture. Ideally, the subject of the photo should take up at least 70% of the picture. Face selfies tend to work best. Avoid choosing photos taken from far away, as they won’t have enough detail.
- Good Lighting: Lighting is another essential factor to consider. Select images with uniform lighting across the subjects, and avoid any intense background light. The light should always come from the camera angle and there should be no shadows on the skin. Additionally, avoid using colour filters, as they can impact the colour palette and create dark patches.
It’s important to note that it’s your responsibility to ensure that your photo follows these guidelines. We will process the image we receive, so it’s essential that you read these recommendations carefully and select your picture accordingly.
